PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

Three reasonsto vote for Obama

The “Summer of Smoke” forest fires hit the Idaho backcountry like a hot Louisiana hurricane, but with a much different outcome. Unlike Katrina, the Obama administration moved quickly to manage the disaster, saving lives and property. Reason No. 1 for voting: re-elect President Obama.

Before Tom Luna was elected superintendent, there was no hint of his radical agenda for Idaho public education. Now, we need to return to learning-friendly class sizes, respect for teachers and their profession, and to teaching the subject, not the test. Reason No. 2 for voting: repeal the Luna laws.

Radical tea partyers have taken over the Republican Party and the Legislature, passing laws that restrict voters’ rights in the taxpayer-funded Republican primary. Protest one-party abuse of power at the polls by refusing to show your photo ID. Reason No. 3 for voting: restore our democracy!

Obama representsharm to economy

Idaho on track for budget surplus, despite tax cuts. This article (Statesman) was probably missed by liberals who live in a highly conservative state, run by Republicans, conservatives and moderates.

Yes, Idaho has $36.1 million more after paying the bills and this despite a $35 million tax cut for corporations and top wage earners. Actual ending balance was $31.8 million.

For you unsophisticated, uneducated for the most part fiscal liberals who support Obama, this is called a surplus. Obama and his band of inexperienced oafs and inglorious White House crooks are putting the screws to your economy.

Obama, the lout, is head of this tribe of fiscal merry-andrew using tarot cards to solve your lack of jobs, bankruptcies, foreclosures, business failures and personal wealth depletion.

Do you seriously want to re-elect this cartoon character Obama? What for? Are you simply not paying attention to you own liberal dismal, pathetic, desperate economic life of doom perpetuated by this administration’s lack of fiscal conservative values?

Be honest — if you’re one of the millions of broke liberals, are you better off today than you were four years ago? Be honest now — I know its hard. Please try — then vote him out.

Say no to Romney; he has enough toys

When born, our brains are in our head. It’s our only organ that has the ability to migrate.

Mitt “Wrongme” is the perfect example of that migration. His brain is now in his derriere.

Thanks to a hidden video camera we now know this horrible man. His disdain for half of us Americans was already known by some of us. He blatantly confirmed it.

On Nov. 6, we will be voting in the most important election of our lifetime. An election that will save America or bring about its destruction.

Mitt “Wrongme” wants to be president because it’s the only toy he doesn’t have. The man has nothing to lose, unlike you and me. Once he’s destroyed this country he and his family will board their plane, stop at the Caymans, close out their bank account and fly to their mansion in Switzerland.

Mitt needs to be put on a sodium pentothal-ritalin drip, dog caged on his garage car elevator where he can ride out life. For company he can have Idaho’s Washington, D.C., delegates. They have drunk so much tea they’re useless. It’s time to say no to “them.”

Gridlock could endwith bipartisanship

My summary of letters from the Sept. 27 Statesman:

Michelle Obama — You can only get your clothes from used clothing stores.

Alternative power — The price of fossil fuels in the future will be cheaper, don’t invest in alternative energy.

Medicare — It is messed up because of Obama.

Birth control pills for the masses.

Now really who cares about the first lady’s clothes? For that matter, Mitt Romney’s taxes? I know fossil fuels will cost more. Also, Medicare had been a bleeding wound since inception.

Let’s assume polls are correct and Obama will win. What he should do:

Replace Timothy Geithner (treasury secretary) and the Office of Management & Budget with Paul Ryan.

Romney becomes secretary of commerce, U.S. trade representative, and takes on the SBA. He can handle it.

Eliminate the Department of Education; states can handle this themselves.

Offer Sanjay Gupta the surgeon general position again and have him fix Medicare from an expert perspective.

Bring Dick Cheney out of retirement as Department of Homeland Security.

Seriously, a bipartisan Cabinet would go a long way to fixing the deadlock in the Senate and Congress. Now that is “change” I could support!

Breaking the gridlock is how you achieve change!

Limited approachis the way to go

Excellent article in a recent Sunday Statesman “Congress needs some “Budget Heroes.” The computer game described in the article (BudgetHero.org) makes one quickly realize that government cuts are essential to long-term survival of our country.

This is the fundamental, primary difference between today’s liberals and conservatives; liberals want more government, conservatives want less. The evidence is clear that the latter is the way to go; just look at Greece to see the future of our country if we continue to grow government. We desperately need to return to the concept of limited government espoused by our Founding Fathers.
