What’s open and closed for Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 8

• Schools in the Boise, Meridian, Kuna, Caldwell, Melba and Vallivue, Nampa and Middleton school districts will be open.

• Boise State University and administrative offices will be open.

• Federal offices will be closed. Some city, county and state offices will be closed. Call ahead if you plan to visit.

• Libraries will be open.

• Allied Waste in Ada and Canyon counties, Sanitary Services in Meridian, J & M Sanitation Service in Kuna and Benjamin’s Rural Disposal in rural Canyon County will maintain regular garbage collection schedules.

• ValleyRide city buses will run regular schedules

• Post offices will be closed. No mail, except Express Mail, will be delivered.

• State liquor stores will be open.

• Most banks will be closed. Some in-store branches may be open. Check with your branch.
