Borah at Eagle
Unbeaten Eagle narrowly avoided an upset last week by recovering a fumble on its own 10-yard line with about 2 minutes to play to preserve the victory. The Mustangs will be tested again by a Borah team that has won four games in a row since a season-opening loss to Boise. Both teams allow opponents more than 25 points per game, but Eagle has the edge on offense with its league-leading 36.5 points per game.
Meridian at Capital
Capital looks to regain confidence after a loss to Rocky last week, and cant afford another loss as the Eagles currently hold the leagues fourth and final playoff spot thanks to a head-to-head tiebreaker against Mountain View. Winless Meridian hasnt had trouble producing points, but needs a boost for its struggling defense.
Mountain View at Rocky Mountain
Having already lost to two of the teams above them in the standings, the Mavericks need this win to keep their postseason hopes alive. Rocky remains unbeaten with a victory over Capital and is the only team in the 5A SIC to hold opponents under 300 yards (285) and 20 points (16) per game.
Mountain Home at Bishop Kelly
Winless Mountain Home has nothing to lose in this contest, which should help the Tigers mentally prepare for a game against unbeaten BK. But dont expect the Knights to take it easy on Mountain Home. BK is racking up a league-best 45.4 points per game.
Fruitland at Homedale
Fruitland is one of four unbeaten teams remaining in the 3A classification, and the Grizzlies run isnt likely to end at Homedale. The Trojans have lost at least 10 straight (including postseason) to the Grizzlies dating back to 2004.
Payette at Weiser
Weiser is coming off a bye, while Payette suffered a confidence-leeching 61-7 home loss to Fruitland last week. Weiser won last years meeting 69-9.
Nampa Christian at Cole Valley
At Meridian High, Cole Valley emerges from its bye week with plenty of confidence after an upset victory against Marsing on Sept. 21. This will be a pivotal game for both teams, who are locked in four-way tie for second in the 2A WIC.
McCall-Donnelly at Melba
McCall-Donnelly is the only team in the 2A WIC without a league victory, but Melba isnt likely to overlook the Vandals. Just a few weeks ago, McCall knocked off defending state champion Grangeville.
Notus at Greenleaf
The is the league opener for both teams, which share 4-1 records. Notus won last years game 42-30, but should be tested by a Greenleaf team enjoying one of its best starts in recent years.
Rimrock at Idaho City
Preseason favorite Rimrock enters conference play with just one win. It will need three straight victories in the coming weeks to regain control of the league standings, starting with an Idaho City team that posted 64 points last week.
Garden Valley at Cascade
Garden Valley is one of just two unbeaten teams remaining in the 1A Division II classification. Cascade, meanwhile, is still chasing its first victory.
Tri-Valley at Wilder
Wilder suffered its first loss of the season last week against Salmon River and looks to get back on track against a young Tri-Valley squad that allows an average of 49.2 points per game.
Horseshoe Bend at Salmon River
Horseshoe Bend got a confidence boost after last weeks win over Tri-Valley, but now faces a Salmon River team that is tied for first in the division.
