Gardeners will want to cover sensitive crops and plants Wednesday for the season’s first cold snap.

The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for the Treasure and Magic valleys from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday.

The temperature will drop to about 37 degrees in the valley. In the west central mountains, the temperature will drop to between 22 to 35 degrees, depending on elevation.

The forecast for the rest of the week calls for sunny skies with high in the low- to mid-60s and lows in the mid- to upper-30s.
