Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State women’s golf team garners fourth-place finish

The Broncos placed two golfers in the top 10 and three in the top 20 to post their best team finish since 2008 on Tuesday at the Rose City Collegiate in Aurora, Ore. Seniors Hayley Young and Lori Harper tied for eighth place at 10-over 226. Young has seven career top 10s, tied for second-most in school history. Freshman Samantha Martin finished tied for 18th at 231. BSU carded the lowest team score in the final round (302) and closed out the tournament seven strokes back of champion Cal State Fullerton (912).

BSU MEN’S TENNIS: Junior Andy Bettles defeated Oklahoma’s Dane Webb 7-5, 7-6 during the second round of ITA All-American Championships qualifying in Tulsa, Okla. Bettles paired with fellow junior Nathan Sereke in doubles, falling to Isade Juneau and Sam Monette of Indiana 8-5. On Monday, Bettles defeated Mississippi State’s Romain Bogaerts 7-5, 6-2, while Sereke was defeated by North Carolina’s Nelson Vick 6-3, 6-4.

BSU WRESTLING: Senior Jason Chamberlain (149 pounds) competed at the World University Games, falling in the opening round against Russia’s Roland Ondar. Chamberlain qualified for the games after winning the World University Trials in August.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO MEN’S GOLF: The Coyotes finished last in a field of 10 at the NAIA Fall Preview in Salem, Ore. At 8-over 152, Kyle DeLorey took 14th place, the highest finish for the C of I.

IDAHO STATE SOCCER: Senior forward Rachel Strawn was selected co-offensive Big Sky player of the week.
