John Killmaster will demonstrate sculpting at the Boise Art Museum.

• Get creative at the interactive, improvisational art “Task Party” that is geared to get you out into the community to create. Drop by the Creative Access Arts Center, 500 S. 8th St., and draw a creative task from the box and get going. It can be anything from writing a poem and performing it to decorating a public space. There will be supplies on hand. Before you set off, write another task and place it in the box for someone else. Learn more and pre-register at TaskBoise.IPULIdaho.org, or just show up.

• Stop by the Boise Art Museum, 670 Julia Davis Drive, and preview the Boise Open Studios Weekend (Oct. 15-16) with artist demonstrations by BOSCO artists John Killmaster, Kay Seurat, Rick Freisen and others. You also can create at Studio Art Exploration and see the Nick Cave exhibit. Admission is by donation.

• Preview Boise Weekly’s auction of cover art at the Idaho Historical Museum, 610 Julia Davis Drive. The actual auction is Oct.17. You can own an original artwork featured on a cover to benefit the Cover Auction Grants.
