Meridian police are investigating a report of an armed robbery in the parking lot of a grocery store late Wednesday night where a woman says she was held up at gunpoint by a stranger.

The woman told police she was walking to her car in the parking lot near the intersection of Cherry Lane and Meridian Road around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday when a white pickup truck pulled up next to her.

The woman said a man got out of the truck, pulled out a light-colored handgun, pointed it at her face, and demanded her wallet.

The woman said the man took her wallet, got back into the truck, and drove away.

The robber is described as being in his late to mid 20s, about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds, with a slender build. He was wearing a baggy white button-up shirt with red stripes, jeans, and a baseball cap.

Anyone with information should call Meridian police at 846-7300 or Crime Stoppers at 343-2677.
