Idaho colleges roundup: Broncos in sixth at Dash Thomas Memorial

Published: September 25, 2012

T.K. Kim shot a 3-over 145 — putting him in a tie for 23rd — to lead Boise State’s men’s golf team in Day 1 of its only home tournament of the 2012-13 season. Redshirt junior Jordan Skyles is tied for 12th after shooting even par through two rounds at The Club at SpurWing, but he is competing as an individual and his score doesn’t count toward the team total. The Broncos (584, 16-over) are three shots behind fifth-place Utah State and trail leader Washington State by 23 strokes. The final round of the tournament begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S GOLF: The Crusaders shot a two-round total of 620 to end Day 1 of the Western Washington Invitational in Bellingham, Wash., in 11th place. Brock Sargent leads NNU after shooting rounds of 79 and 73 to tie for 38th overall.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO WOMEN’S GOLF: Senior Trish Gibbens shot a final-round 75 to earn medalist honors at the North Idaho College Invitational in Spokane. Gibbens’ 54-hole total of 229 was good enough for her to edge Lewis-Clark State’s Brooke Dagner and Idah Whisenant for the title. The Coyotes finished second as a team behind Lewis-Clark State.
