Published: September 24, 2012

Police are looking for a man who witnesses say fired a handgun in the air during a fight outside a nightclub on Fairview Avenue in West Boise early Monday morning.

Police officials say it appears no one was hurt during the fight or when the gun was fired, and it appears that any shooting was not directed at anybody.

Police were called to the Buffalo Club at 10206 W. Fairview Ave., which is just east of the 5 Mile Road intersection, around 2:15 a.m. Monday to investigate a report of shots fired.

When police arrived, witnesses said there had just been a fight in the parking lot of the club, and when the group that was brawling was being separated, someone pulled out a gun and shot it in the air.

Police reports do not indicate what the argument was about. When police arrived, the man who fired the gun was no longer there.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 343-2677.
