New statewide public health network will help communities find health and wellness resources

Published: September 22, 2012

Idaho will soon become the first state to adopt the Network of Care for Public Health. Idaho’s seven Public Health Districts will pay for this community-based web portal program as a resource for individuals, families, and agencies concerned with community health.

The Network of Care program features science based health education provided by Healthwise; directly links to state and federal lawmakers; and provides health data indicators by county from the National County Health Rankings, and Healthy People 2020. These indicators are categorized by Idaho’s seven public health districts, as well as by county, to help local leaders focus their efforts to improve health at the heart of the problem.

The program offers various features, providing around 170 customized local health indicators for each county. To learn more, visit Idaho’s Network of Care Sites at: http://idaho.networkofcare.org. Data is available by county or by each of the state’s seven health districts.
