The City of Boise, members of the Hyatt family, and ACHD officials will officially open the Hyatt Hidden Lakes Reserve - also called the Hyatt wetlands - Tuesday. The 44-acre wetlands area and urban wildlife sanctuary also serves as a stormwater treatment project featuring sand filters, stormwater piping, a porous pavement parking lot, restroom, an access bridge, pathways, and educational kiosks. The Golden Eagle Audubon Society will help with tours of the facility, discussions of artwork at the wetlands and wildlife viewing.

Tuesday's event gets under way at 11 a.m., at 5301 N. Maple Grove Road, about one-quarter of a mile south of the Maple Grove Road-Chinden Boulevard intersection.

Boise City Council President Maryanne Jordan and officials for Ada County Highway District, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Boise Public Works Department and Parks and Recreation Department are scheduled to attend.
