Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State volleyball tops UC Irvine in Arizona tourney

The Broncos won a rematch with UC Irvine on Saturday, defeating the Anteaters 25-18, 25-21, 25-14 to wrap up the Arizona Desert Classic in Tucson. Liz Harden and Alyssa Gammel led BSU with 14 and 12 kills, respectively. Harden, a senior outside hitter, and Kersti Whitney, a senior libero, were named to the all-tournament team for BSU (7-7).

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S SOCCER: The Crusaders handed 12th-ranked Simon Fraser its first loss of the season, 2-1 in Burnaby, B.C. Jaime Torres recorded a goal and an assist, while Daniel Clark also scored for NNU (2-2-2, 1-0-1 GNAC).

NNU WOMEN’S SOCCER: The Crusaders fell to Seattle Pacific 3-1 in Nampa. Annie Thomas scored the lone goal for NNU (4-2-0, 1-1-0 GNAC).

COLLEGE OF IDAHO MEN’S SOCCER: The Coyotes were shut out 2-0 by Northwest University in Kirkland, Wash.
