20th annual Zamzow's Frisbee Fest crowns a canine winner

Published: September 15, 2012

Philip, a two-year-old border collie owned by Scott Graham of Boise, took top honors at the 20th annual Zamzow's Frisbee Fest by running 163 feet and catching a frisbee mid-air.

Seventy-four dogs competed Saturday in the annual event at Ann Morrison Park. The event was co-sponsored by the Idaho Humane Society.

Philip set the distance record for adult dogs, edging out last year's winner, seven-year-old golden retriever mix Maize owned by Jason Herbeck of Boise. Maize placed second with a 160-foot catch.

Dogs competed in additional categories, including youth, style and "underdog" for dogs weighing less than 35 pounds.

Volunteers from the Idaho Humane Society staffed the event. Winners received cash prizes and Zamzow's dog food.
