9/11 ceremonies planned in Boise and Meridian

Local officials and the Idaho Fallen Soldier Memorial Committee invite the public to the third annual memorial service at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Fallen Soldier Memorial. It’s at the Idaho Law Learning Center, 514 Jefferson St., Boise.

Special remembrance This year’s service includes a special ceremony for the seven Idahoans who died in combat over the past year: Cody Moosman, Robert Dyas Jr., Chris Workman, Daniel Brown, Ryan Sharp, Kenneth Cochran and Ethan J. Martin.

Gov. Butch Otter and first lady Lori Otter will recite the names of all 62 Idaho service members lost in recent conflicts.

In Meridian The city will commemorate 9/11 from 7:45 to 8 a.m. at Meridian Fire Station No. 1, 540 E. Franklin Road. The Meridian Pipes & Drums & Honor Guard will perform; the ceremony also will include a moment of silence and the ringing of a bell.
