Where will it be? At the Jack’s Urban Meeting Place project between Myrtle and Front and Ninth and 11th streets. The headquarters office is expected to be near 11th and Front streets.

Why is it needed? The company has about 900 employees in headquarters operations in buildings around the Boise area. This would bring them all under one roof. The main headquarters is at One Capital Center, 999 W. Main St. Simplot has leased much of that building since 1975, said David Cuoio, company spokesman.

When does construction begin? Simplot must get approval from the city of Boise before building the structure. Construction could begin as early as 2013 and be completed as soon as 2015.

What would the building look like? Details aren’t firm. But company officials say it could be 300,000 square feet and 10 stories tall.
