Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State soccer closes out home tournament with a win

The Broncos handed Idaho State its first loss of the season Sunday — a 3-2 overtime victory in the final game of the Bronco Invitational at Boas Soccer Complex. Shannon Schueren sealed the win with a penalty kick in the extra frame. The sophomore finished with two goals and an assist. Katy Oehring also scored for Boise State (3-3-0). Anna Pingree scored both goals for Idaho State (4-1-0).

IDAHO SOCCER: Montana earned a 3-2 double-overtime victory over the Vandals at the Bronco Invitational. Meli Cortez and Chelsea Small scored for Idaho (2-4-0), while Lauren McCreath, Erin Craig and Mackenzie Akins scored for Montana (3-3-0).

COLLEGE OF IDAHO VOLLEYBALL: The Coyotes topped Evergreen 25-14, 25-18, 25-17 in Cascade Conference action Saturday in Olympia, Wash. Jessica Peacock led the C of I (5-4, 2-0 CCC) with nine kills, while Kelsey Soos put up 25 assists and Janel Porter had a match-high 12 digs.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE VOLLEYBALL: The Crusaders split matches Saturday at the Point Loma Seaside Invitational. NNU (3-1) swept Cal State Dominguez Hills 25-20, 25-19, 25-21, but were then swept 19-25, 17-25, 24-26.

NNU WOMEN’S SOCCER: The Crusaders defeated the Academy of Art 2-0 on Sunday in San Francisco. Autumn Yturbe and Sarah Blum scored for NNU (2-0-0).

NNU MEN’S SOCCER: The Crusaders dropped a 2-1 match to Cal State Los Angeles on Saturday. Jon Curry scored the lone goal for NNU (0-1).
