A 29-year-old Garden City woman was sexually assaulted as her home Sunday morning, and a suspect was arrested soon after, according to Garden City police.
Police conducted a search and found Joshua S. Garrard, a 21-year-old Boise man, off of Mountain View Drive less than an hour after the reported assault.
Garrard was booked into the Ada County Jail on charges of felony attempted rape and misdemeanor DUI. Garden City Police Sgt. Abe Blount said Garrard was charged with DUI because he was believed to have been intoxicated, and he drove to an from the victim's house. He will be arraigned Tuesday afternoon.
The victim identified Garrard as a family acquaintance, and she said he had fled the house in the 4700 block of Northwind Court in only his boxers. A neighbor witnessed the man leaving the residence dressed that way.
The assault was reported at 8:17 a.m., and Garrard was located at 8:52 a.m. He was taken to the police station for questioning, then arrested.
The victim was treated at a local hospital.
