James Carkulis, CEO of Exergy Development Group, on Thursday paid off more than $27,500 of outstanding bills the company owed Boise, city spokesman Adam Park said. Exergy incurred the charges for services, including Boise Police Department security work, utilities and licensing, as part of July's Exergy Twilight Criterium bicycle race in Downtown Boise.

Park said city officials had discussed the issue of Exergy's unpaid bills with company officials recently, and both sides were glad to put the issue behind them. He said the city hopes Exergy sponsors the race again next year.
