More than 70 companies have signed up for the Hiring our Heroes Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Idaho Center in Nampa. All have job openings.
The fair also will feature Labor Department veterans representatives and consultants holding workshops on veterans programs, benefits, résumé writing and interviewing. Participants should pre-register at the Hiring Our Heroes-Boise website at https://hoh.greatjob.net/sc/viewEvent.action?id=483813.
The Idaho Department of Labor has scheduled two workshops to help military veterans prepare for the fair. Workshops are at 1 p.m. Thursday and 1 p.m. Sept. 6 at the departments Canyon County office, 4514 Thomas Jefferson St., Caldwell. Veterans should email Roberto Gonzales at Roberto.Gonzales@labor.idaho.gov to sign up. This is a real opportunity for Idaho employers to take advantage of the skills and abilities veterans bring to the workplace and for veterans and their families to get an opportunity for employment with some of Idahos great businesses, Department of Labor Veterans Program Coordinator Chris Ramos said. The Hiring our Heroes Job Fair, sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Department of Labor, the Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve USDOL and various veterans and military organizations, is open to military veterans, military spouses and members of the National Guard and Reserve. Employers should have applications and specific job descriptions and be prepared to accept résumés and conduct interviews. Employers can still sign up for free booth space at the fair by pre-registering online at the Hiring Our Heroes-Boise website at https://hoh.greatjob.net/sc/viewEvent.action?id=483813 and contacting Roberto Gonzales at the Department of Labor, (208)364-7781 ext 3372 or Roberto.gonzales@labor.Idaho.gov.
