Celebrate the return of the salmon at the annual Sawtooth Salmon Festival. This is the end of the journey for thousands of salmon and steelhead that make the 900-mile trip from the Pacific Ocean to their spawning habitat in Central Idaho. And it’s all uphill: nearly 7,000 feet above sea level. You can learn about this remarkable fish and listen to music from Dan Costello, Ned Evett and Hokum Hi-Flyers’ Scott Knickerbocker and Jonah Shue. And you can even eat some of the tasty buggers at the annual salmon feed from 6 to 8 p.m.
