Treasure Valley's technology companies work towards an innovative culture

Published: August 22, 2012

The Valley’s high-tech community has come a long way in a few years. But some chief executives say it has far to go.

Innovation happens here — in a disconnected fashion. Treasure Valley tech companies or developers may be creating wireless devices to access networks or software for security without knowing what other Valley companies are doing or how their technologies might connect in an inventive way.

“There are pockets of geniuses out there, but they are scattered throughout different industries — industries that don’t always talk,” says Matt Rissell, chairman of the Idaho Technology Council Software Alliance and founder of Tsheets, a web-based time tracking software service.

One of the council’s goals is to increase collaboration as part of a robust Idaho software-development community.

Business Insider asked five local tech leaders to share their thoughts about the future of their companies and the Treasure Valley’s tech sector. Read to their stories by clicking on the links at right.
