Boise police investigate report of armed robbery at Big Smoke store on Overland Road

Boise police are investigating a report of an armed robbery at the Big Smoke store at 3107 W. Overland Road Tuesday morning.

The report of the robbery was called into Ada County dispatchers at 9:02 a.m.

A witness told police two men walked in the store, showed a clerk a handgun, and tied her up. The men then left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and other items from inside. A customer walked in a short time late and helped untie the clerk, who then called police.

The clerk told police the robbers were wearing hooded sweatshirts. Boise police declined to release any other information about the robbery, saying it was an ongoing investigation. Police had not identified any suspects in the case by 6 p.m. Tuesday.
