University and local business leaders, including Boise State President Bob Kustra and Micron Technology CEO Mark Durcan, will speak in a brief ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the courtyard at 2360 University Drive. Self-guided tours of the Micron Business and Economics Building will follow from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students will be available to show off some of the 119,000-square-foot building’s unique features.
The project has been in the works since October 2010 when the University Inn was demolished at the site. The $28.8 million building cost was covered with a $12.5 million lead gift from Micron Foundation and more than 1,000 additional private gifts, along with bond proceeds to be repaid with student facilities fees.
