The womens team begins the 2012 regular season this weekend. The Broncos are hosting the Holiday Inn Classic at the Boas Soccer Complex. The Broncos first opponent is New Mexico State at 6 p.m. Friday. On Sunday, Boise State will face North Dakota State at 2 p.m. Idaho State is the fourth team competing, but will not face Boise State. Last season, the Broncos went 8-11-1 and finished fifth in their first season in Mountain West. In the preseason coaches poll, Boise State is projected to finish sixth. An incoming class of nine freshmen has joined the program. Tickets for the Holiday Inn Classic can be purchased at the gate. Prices are $6 for adults and $4 youth/seniors. There is a discounted admission for all military, veterans, police, firefighters and first responders ($4 for adults).
BSU MENS BASKETBALL: The nonconference schedule is not complete, but some games are finalized. BSU will visit national power Michigan State on Nov. 20, NCAA Tournament team Creighton on Nov. 28 and Pac-12 school Utah on Dec. 5. Boise State will host Big West member UC Santa Barbara on Nov. 24 and LSU on Dec. 15 at Taco Bell Arena. Boise State and Idaho will play a neutral site game for the second straight season, this time likely at CenturyLink Arena in Downtown Boise, coach Leon Rice said. Boise States 16-game Mountain West schedule was announced last week.
