THE MIDWAY

Butler Carnivals returns with some of the biggest and baddest rides around. The Fireball will rotate you 360 degrees as you swing in a 180-degree arc. The Evolution, pictured, takes you on two 360-degree spins as the cars rotate while the entire ride rotates. (Take it easy on the corn dogs before you go on this ride.) Carnival wrist bands are $25 per day, or you can buy tickets by the sheet. Individual tickets are $1 each. Find more ticket info at WesternIdahoFair.com.

SHOWS

The World Tournament of Champion Knights of the Realm will transport you to the days of King Arthur as they perform a medieval jousting tournament at 4 and 7 p.m. Aug. 17 in the Grandstand.

The stunt riders of the Mountainboarding Big Air Show will dazzle you as they spin, flip and ride the rails each day behind the South Expo building.

CUTE ANIMALS

The Predators of the Heart wildlife and reptile show will captivate you with up-close encounters with animals. There are multiple shows each day near Gate C.

You can’t beat the K-9 Comets Frisbee Dogs for cute and fun as these pups make amazing acrobatic disc catches northeast of the Expo buildings each day.

CONCERTS

This year’s concert lineup features Grammy-winner Weird Al Yankovic, pictured, who will perform many of his classics such as “Smells like Nirvana” and “Eat It” on Aug. 21.
