The intersection of Eagle and Amity roads will close 7 a.m. Sunday while crews build a roundabout at the intersection.
The intersection will be closed through Sept. 16.
Motorists on Eagle will be detoured to Cloverdale or Locust Grove roads; Amity motorists will be detoured to Victory or Lake Hazel roads.
The one-lane roundabout, which replaces a four-way stop, is being constructed at the Eagle and Amity intersection with the possibility for expansion to two lanes in the future. Currently, 1,100 vehicles pass through the intersection during the busiest hour of the day. The roundabout is anticipated to operate effectively until traffic volumes double. Growth in the area will drive a future expansion to two lanes, according to ACHD.
The $700,000 roundabout project, being built by Nampa Paving, is expected to be complete in November.
