Eighth inning dooms Hawks in loss to Salem-Keizer

Salem-Keizer sent 14 men to the plate in a nine-run eighth inning, and the Volcanoes grabbed an 11-4 victory over Boise before 2,538 fans at Memorial Stadium on Monday night. The five-game series continues Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Jeimer Candelario went 3-for-5 for the Hawks, who held early leads of 2-0 and 3-1. Boise’s Marco Hernandez went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple, extending his hit streak to 18 games — the longest current streak in the NWL.
