Police: 44-year-old Boise man arrested for child porn possession

Published: August 13, 2012

Joel J. Jobes II is being held in the Ada County Jail on five counts of possession of sexually exploitative material after police say they found images of child pornography on a computer in his West Boise home on Saturday.

Boise police officials said Monday they are still trying to figure out who the children in the images are and if there is any local connection.

Boise police were first contacted about the case earlier this month by a third party. Boise police compiled enough evidence, with the help of the multi-agency Idaho Crimes Against Childrern Task Force, to serve a warrant Saturday morning at Jobes’ home in the 8800 block of West Stynbrook Drive, located in the Maple Grove/Goddard roads neighborhood.

That’s where police found an undisclosed amount of illegal images on a computer and arrested Jobes, according to reports.

The 44-year-old Jobes is set to make his initial court appearance Monday afternoon. A preliminary hearing on the charges will be set for later this month.

The crime of possession of sexually exploitative material is punishable by up to 10 years in prison for each charge.
