IRS offers Boise workshop for Idaho nonprofits

Published: August 13, 2012

The Internal Revenue Service will hold a one-day seminar in Boise to help nonprofit organizations meet their tax obligation and maintain their tax exempt status.

The seminar is planned for 8 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 27, in the Hatch Ballroom in the Boise State University Student Union Building.

The cost is $45 per person and pre-registration is required. You can register online at the Idaho Nonprofit Center at www.idahononprofits.org.

Among the topics to be covered is proper filing of the Form 990. About 2,100 Idaho nonprofits have lost their tax-exempt status in the past two years for not filing the annual form, according to the IRS.

The workshop is hosted by the Boise State University College of Business and Economics. For more information, call 424-2229 or contact professors Mark Cowan at markcowan@boisestate.edu or Kathy Hurley at kathyhurley@boisestate.edu.
