There will be widespread smoke in the Boise air Sunday morning, with a light wind sweeping through the Treasure Valley in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Expect a high near 100 degrees Sunday during the day and a low of 71 at night. The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality has issued a yellow, or moderate, air quality alert for Sunday. The DEQ suggests postponing any strenuous activities and to limit driving. Outdoor burning is prohibited Sunday in Ada and Canyon counties.
The heat won't let up Monday, when the National Weather Service forecasts it will reach 101 degrees in Boise.
It should cool off slightly later in the week, though. The NWS expects a high of 94 degrees Wednesday and a low of 64 that night.
