A gold medal “victory ride’’ and 39th birthday celebration for the Boise cyclist starts at 3 p.m. at the Boise Depot. The ride will proceed down Capitol Boulevard to Capitol Park near the Idaho Statehouse. Get this Idaho Statesman poster at the event for Armstrong to autograph. There will be birthday cake for 1,000.

Join the ride: Cyclists can gather at the Boise Depot with Armstrong at 2:30 p.m. or in the parking lot along Capitol on the Boise State campus, where they can join the caravan as it comes down the hill. Cyclists 5 and younger, who may not be able to ride the entire length, can gather with their parents at 3 p.m. at City Hall Plaza at Capitol and Main and join the caravan as it passes.
