Milan Institute holds fund-raiser today for family of Nampa child who was backed over by car

Published: August 7, 2012

The Milan Institute, 1021 W. Hemingway Blvd., Nampa, will hold a fund-raiser from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to help the family of 1-year-old Jullian Fuentes, who died July 21 after a car accidentally backed over him. The school will offer a hair cut, hot dog, chips and a beverage for $10 and also will have a silent auction of gift baskets. All funds will go to the Fuentes family to help offset the costs related to the death of Jullian, whom they called JuJu. An account to benefit the family also has been set up at Northwest Christian Credit Union, 716 E. Colorado Ave., Nampa. Donations can be made to the JuJu account. The little boy’s mother, RaTona Fuentes, is a student at Milan Institute. Nampa police report that she felt a bump while backing down a roadway about 3:45 p.m. that Saturday and family members told her to stop. Her son was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
