Chuck Adams headlines elk festival

Published: August 2, 2012

The world-renowned hunter is part of Boise’s elk-hunting event.

If you’re an elk hunter, you probably don’t need anything to get you motivated for hunting season, and if you’re an archer, you’re probably already counting the days until the opener.

To tide you over and get you tuned up, Elk101.com and Extreme Elk Magazine are presenting 2012 Extreme Elk Hunting Event Saturday, Aug. 4, at Centennial High School Performing Arts Center at 12400 W. McMillan Road in Boise.

“We’re packing a season worth of elk hunting excitement into one weekend,” organizers said.

Events include the Idaho Archery Company pop-up 3-D archery challenge, a hunting gear swap and raffles. Anyone can bring gear and sell it for free.

There will be hunting seminars by Chuck Adams, who holds five bowhunting world records and has killed 122 record-book animals, and Corey Jacobsen, Boise resident and six-time world elk calling champion.

Admission is $10 online for adults and $12 day of the event. Youth ages 17 and under is $10. For details, go to elk101.com/events.
