A 54-year-old Boise man who failed field sobriety tests and a breath alcohol test at the Ada County Jail Monday night was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, according to police.
Leon G. Larvie was also booked into the jail on a charged of misdemeanor injury to a child. A toddler was in the back seat of his vehicle.
Police say Larvie pulled over at 10:49 p.m. for traffic infractions on West Emerald Street in Boise Monday night, including turning without signaling and driving between lanes. The investigating officer said Larvie smelled of alcohol, had glassy eyes and slurred speech. An open container of alcohol was found in his vehicle, police said.
A breath test done at the Ada County Jail revealed that Larvie's blood alcohol content was .14 and .135 well over the legal limit of .08 BAC.
