Hog wrestling, military ceremonies are among Canyon County Fair's Friday highlights

Friday is Military/Veteran Appreciation Day at the Canyon County Fair, and the day also features one of the fair’s most popular events, Hogs ’n Mud wrestling.

The messy event, sponsored by Specific Steel, is set for 6 p.m. in the rodeo arena of the Caldwell fairgrounds.

Friday night’s concert, free with paid admission to the fair, features country music singer Sara Evans at 8 p.m. on the Main Stage.

Other fair highlights Friday include:

12:30, 4:45 and 7:45 p.m. — Magician Kent Messmer, Community Stage

12:45 p.m. — Boise Cloggers, Entertainment Stage

1:30, 7:15 and 9:45 p.m. — Juggler Curtis Carlyle, Community Stage

2, 5 and 9 p.m. — Dizzy Hips, Entertainment Stage

2 p.m. — Cherry pie-baking contest, O’Connor Field House

2:45 p.m. — High Desert Band, Community Stage

3, 6 and 10 p.m. — Comedy Hypnotist Don Barnhart, Entertainment Stage

4 p.m. — Carnival midway opens

4 p.m. — Big Wheel Race, Farm Bureau Contest Corral

4:30 p.m. — Opening ceremonies with colors presented by Gem State Young Marines, Entertainment stage

5:45 and 8:45 p.m. — Reptile Adventures, Entertainment Stage

6 p.m. — Hogs ‘n Mud wrestling, rodeo arena

7 p.m. — Siphon-tube setting contest, Farm Bureau Contest Corral

8 p.m. — Sara Evans, Main Stage

8 p.m. — Hispanic Folkloric Dancers of Idaho, Entertainment Stage
