Dickson went six innings without allowing a hit. He struck out four batters.

The game marked the debut of Dan Vogelbach. The 6-foot, 250-pound first baseman was selected in the second round of the 2011 draft. Vogelbach went 2-for-4 with a double.

Michael Hamann retired the final two Bears batters to earn his first save. Jaimer Candelario went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and one run scored.
