The Boise VA Medical Center will host the All Veterans Welcome Home event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday on the VA parade ground located at 500 W. Fort St.
The event is designed to be a welcome home party for veterans who have recently returned from the War on Terror and the veterans who never received a welcome home party when they returned home many years ago.
The event is free for veterans and their families. There will be live musical and performing entertainers, free barbecue food and drinks, free massages, raffle prizes, static display of an Idaho National Guard helicopter and more. Organizers are expecting as many as 1,000 veterans and their families to attend from nearby communities. Attendees do not need to provide verification of veteran status or identification.
If you are interested in volunteering, having a booth or making a donation of a raffle prize or other item, please contact Josh Callihan at 422-1054 or by email at joshua.callihan@va.gov.
Note: residents of the North End may notice a little extra noise Saturday when the Idaho Army National Guard Apache helicopter lands and takes off.
