Solomon Vega Jr. is being held in the Ada County Jail on a felony lewd conduct charge after police say he had illegal sexual contact with a teenage girl in Boise numerous times between 2010 and 2011.

It appears law enforcement officers in California arrested the 35-year-old Vega on an Idaho warrant in connection with the case, as jail records show he is from Fresno and was transferred into the custody of Ada County Sheriff’s deputies at the jail early Wednesday morning.

Boise police began investigating the case in October after being contacted by a third party. The teen told detectives the illegal sexual contact took place at numerous times at a Boise area home, according to reports.

Police say Vega is well known to the teen, who was under the age of 16 at the time of the first incident, according to reports.

When detectives began their investigation in October, Vega was no longer in town, police officials say. Ada County prosecutors issued an arrest warrant for Vega in June. The details of Vega’s arrest in Fresno were not available Wednesday.

Vega will make his initial court appearance later Wednesday.

The crime of lewd conduct in punishable by up to life in prison.
