Erik N. Miller is being held in the Ada County Jail on a felony charge of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 16 after Boise police say he walked up to a girl under the age of 16 and suggested she watch him masturbate in the parking lot of a Downtown store Sunday night.
Police described the 45-year-old Miller as a transient. Police say they were sent to a store in the 100 block of E. Myrtle Street around 10 p.m. Sunday after getting calls from the public that a man, later identified as Miller, was walking up to women in the parking lot and suggesting they watch him fondle himself.
When police arrived, they saw Miller approach the teen girl and officers quickly moved in. Police say there was no physical contact between Miller and the girl or any of the other women who reported what he did, according to reports.
Miller was then arrested and booked into jail.
A preliminary hearing on the case will be scheduled for later this month.
The crime of sex abuse of a child under the age of 16 is punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
