The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for counties across Southern Idaho, including Ada, Canyon, Elmore and Gem.
The watch is in effect until 10 p.m.
In Boise there is a 40 percent chance of showers. Strong winds and hail are also possible.
