Boise police charge two with marijuana trafficking after finding a pound of pot during traffic stop

Published: July 11, 2012

Kathryn J. Morgan and Scott W. Reisinger are being held in the Ada County Jail on felony charges of marijuana trafficking after Boise police say they found a pound of pot in their car during a traffic stop Tuesday night.

An officer pulled over the car Morgan was driving around 10 p.m. near the Franklin/Cole roads intersection after watching the car swerve in and out of its traffic lane, according to reports. Boise police called for a K-9 drug detection dog during the traffic stop, which officials say detected drugs inside the car.

Police eventually found a plastic bag with 457 grams of marijuana inside, which is just over a pound. Police also say they developed other undisclosed evidence that the marijuana was for sale, which led to the trafficking charge.

The 44-year-old Morgan and 46-year-old Reisinger, who are both from Boise, were then arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail.

The pair will make their initial court appearance Wednesday afternoon.

The crime of trafficking in marijuana is punishable by up to 15 years in prison, with a mandatory minimum sentence of one year and a $5,000 fine.
