Hawks routed in game shortened by storm

Published: July 9, 2012

Boise suffered its worst loss of the season Sunday night, falling to the Yakima Bears 10-1 in five innings in Yakima, Wash. The game was cut short after a storm rolled into the area with lightning and gusting wind. Right fielder Xavier Batista recorded his second multi-hit game of the season for Boise, going 2-for-2 with a double. Catcher Chadd Krist drove in the lone run for the Hawks (8-16) with a sacrifice fly in the first inning.
