Crews respond to third fire in one week near Caldwell railroad tracks

For the third time in one week, firefighters were dispatched to a grass fire near the railroad tracks in the area of Ustick Road and Cleveland Boulevard in Caldwell.

About 8:05 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to a structure fire and grass fire off Friar Drive, which is adjacent to the railroad tracks.

As of 8:40 p.m. crews were still on scene and further details were not available.

The fire has caused a large power outage in the Nampa/Caldwell area according to Idaho Power.

The other two fires, caused by sparks from a train, occurred on Wednesday, June 27, and Friday, June 22. Friday’s fire destroyed one trailer and damaged two others.
