Boise's First Thursday highlights

• Dancers from Ballet Idaho will kick up their heels at the Boise Art Museum, 670 Julia Davis Drive, bringing Nick Cave’s “soundsuits” to life at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. (Pictured: Elizabeth Barreto.)

• Learn glass torch work at Boise Art Glass, 530 W. Myrtle St. It’s $40 for a half-hour session. Make a reservation at 345-1825.

• It will be a laugh fest at The District Coffee House, 110 S. 5th St., when improv comedy troupe Recycled Minds takes control with their family-friendly show at 7 p.m.

• See Brienne Oliver’s hanging paper animal mashup sculptures at Bricolage, 418 S. 8th St.

• If you put in a bid on one of the artworks at the Idaho Humane Society’s Art for the Animals benefit at Gallery 601, 211 N. 10th St., you’d better show up tonight. It’s the last night for bids and to donate to the Humane Society’s Paws for the Cause.

• At Lisk+Rowe Gallery, 403 S. 8th St., check out the mesmerizing sculpture of Matt Grover, “Sines: an Exploration of Sine Waves in Nature Through Kinetic Sculpture.”
