Craig H. Cichy is being held in the Ada County Jail on a charge of sexual battery of a minor after Boise police say he had illegal sexual contact with a child on more than one occasion over the past several years.

Boise police were contacted about the case June 18 and found evidence that the 52-year-old Cichy had illegal sexual contact with the child at a Boise area home. The child is known to Cichy. Police do not suspect there are any other victims in the case.

Ada County prosecutors issued a warrant for Cichy earlier this week and Boise police arrested him Tuesday afternoon.

Cichy, who is being held on a $500,000 bond, will make his initial court appearance Wednesday afternoon.

The crime of sexual battery of a minor is punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
