Fire destroys barn, burns two other out-buildings west of Meridian; roads in area closed

A barn was complete destroyed by fire Tuesday night in Meridian. Two other out-buildings were damaged, and a vehicle was destroyed. The estimated cost of the damage was $7,500.

A barn was destroyed, and two other out-buildings were damaged. A vehicle was also damaged. The estimated cost of the loss was about $7,500, according to fire officials at the scene.

The location of the fire was 898 N. McDermott Road, which is west of Meridian and north of Interstate 84. McDermott Road, between Cherry and Franklin roads, has been closed.

Crews from Meridian, Nampa and Star responded to the fire.

The fire was reported at 8:38 p.m. Tuesday as a grass fire with structures threatened, according to Ada County Dispatch.
