Ryan Ruas two-run single in the sixth inning gave the Indians the go-ahead runs they needed to beat Boise 4-1 on Monday. While the Hawks had more hits (6-5) than Spokane, Boise stranded six runners and got its lone run on a Marco Hernandez double in the third, scoring Gioskar Amaya. The Indians struck first, scoring in the bottom of the first inning, then added an insurance run in the eighth. Starting pitcher Jose Arias went five innings for the Hawks, striking out three while giving up just three hits and one earned run. Boise reliever Amaury Paulino (0-2) was credited with the loss, as he gave up three earned runs in two innings of work. Shawn Blackwell earned the win for Spokane, striking out three while giving up two hits in four innings.
