Just days after losing a wide receiver from its 2013 signing class, Boise States football program landed a commitment from another California receiver.
Chino Hills (Calif.) Highs Jack Austin committed to the Broncos program Friday. Austin, 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, had offers from Utah, Oregon State, San Diego State and Utah State.
Theres a stereotypical I want to play in the Pac-12 type of thing, Austin said. I pushed that egotistical thinking aside. I wanted to find the school that best fit me, and I found that in Boise.
Austin said a second visit to Boise and a second look at Boise States academics Theyre a lot better than a lot of people make them out to be, he said convinced him to commit. Austin said has had an offer from the Broncos for about two months.
Its a serious decision for me, and Im going to keep it, said Austin, the Broncos eighth commitment for the Class of 2013. Commitments are non-binding until recruits sign a letter of intent in February.
American Canyon (Calif.) High receiver Chris Seisay (6-2, 175 pounds) withdrew his commitment from Boise State last week, just days after committing to the Broncos.
