GOP LEADERS

Obstructionists hinder economic prosperity

Did GOP leaders act in a treacherous manner? In Robert Draper’s book, “Do Not Ask What Good We Do,” Draper writes that during a four-hour “invitation-only” meeting with GOP minister of propaganda, Frank Luntz, senior GOP congressmen plotted to sabotage, undermine and destroy America’s economy. Guest list:

Frank Luntz.

Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis.

Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va.

Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.

Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Texas.

Rep. Jeb Hensarling, R-Texas.

Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Mich.

Rep. Dan Lungren, R-Calif.

Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C.

Sen. John Kyl, R-Ariz.

Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla.

Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev.

Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn.

Newt Gingrich.

During the four-hour meeting, the GOP leaders plotted to bring Congress to a standstill, regardless of how much it would hurt the American economy, by pledging to obstruct and block President Obama on all legislation. These Republican congressional policymakers, who were elected to do the people’s work, were literally plotting to sabotage, undermine and destroy the people’s U.S. economy. These actions are simply treacherous. If Draper’s accusations are false, then these Republican leaders can always sue Draper for libel. Let’s see if they do.

NOT VOTING

Election choices are poor

Hate to say this, but I’m really not pleased with the direction this country is going. I’d vote for Mitt Romney if I could trust that he wouldn’t cater to the nut cases on the right. Until then, I’m afraid I may sit out this election. Somehow I suspect there are a large number of other voters facing this dilemma.
