Several Downtown Boise roads are closed because of a rollover crash.
The rollover involving two SUVs occurred about 3:45 p.m. Witnesses told Boise police the driver of a white SUV traveling southbound on 16th failed to yield to a traffic light and struck the side of a black SUV going east through the intersection. The black SUV was struck on the side and flipped in the intersection.
As of 4 p.m. all eastbound traffic on Main Street, between 15th and 17th streets is closed. Also, traffic on 16th Street between Idaho and Grove streets is closed. The roads are expected to be closed for up to an hour as officers conduct the investigation and clean up the scene.
At this time no one involved in the collision is being transported to a hospital. Paramedics are treating what appear to be very minor injuries at the scene and expect to release all involved people from that location. According to police, everyone involved in the collision was wearing a seat belt.
"This is a perfect example of why we strongly encourage everyone to wear a seat belt at all times. This could have been a major tragedy, but it looks like everyone is going to be OK," said Boise Police Lieutenant Kent Lipple.
